1812 re-Enactment and Displays
An American raid on Cobourg
Saturday July 3rd from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Students from Cobourg West Highschool and 2 re-enacting groups will be staging what a raid on Cobourg could have looked like during the War of 1812. The presentation will be on Saturday July 3rd to the east of the band shell by the boardwalk. Displays by our tent will run from 10:00-3:00 with the following special events:
- Musket firing demonstrations at 10:30 and 12:30
- Raid on Cobourg battle 11:30
- Historical fashion show at 1:00
The British and Canadian side will be the 49th British regulars, Royal Artillery, Incorporated Militia of Upper Canada, and Northumberland militia.
American forces will be the 1st Kentucky militia and the 6th U.S. regulars.
