SkyHawks

Soaring, sweeping, spiralling and tumbling in formation and solo, a thin sheet of nylon and years of experience are all that separates them from catastrophe as they hurtle earthward. The SkyHawks will be landing at the Cobourg Waterfront Festival once again this year, weather permitting.

Trailing giant flags and streamers of coloured smoke, the Canadian Forces Parachute Team, the SkyHawks will thrill festival crowds with their precision teamwork-aerial acrobatics and canopy formations. This year's show will be over Victoria Park Beach on Saturday, July 2nd, 2011 at 11:00am. Once the aerial performance is completed, the 15 members of the SkyHawks will meet the public, sign autographs, and be available for photographs.

In their 39th season of amazing crowds, the SkyHawks have performed in more than 5,000 demonstrations in front of over 75 million thrilled spectators worldwide.

A sub-unit of the Canadian Parachute Centre, the Trenton-based SkyHawks team is drawn from the regular and reserve forces. They help provide instructor training to Canadian Forces around the world at air shows, in schools and at events like the Cobourg Waterfront Festival.

After the team members pack up their vivid red and white canopies, children and adults alike will be invited to meet the team, have autographs signed and have the opportunity to take once in a lifetime photographs.
