Welcome to the Festival

A Proud History
Come join us as we celebrate the 20th annual Cobourg Waterfront Festival.
In 1990 a small group of interested citizens approached the Town of Cobourg to ask that the existing Arts and Crafts show be enlarged to include Fine Art. The town agreed and suggested the use of Victoria Park as the site for the Fine Art Show and Sale. The Cobourg Lions and Lioness Clubs were approached to spearhead this part of the expanded festival.
We are proud to celebrate the 20th annual Cobourg Waterfront Festival. Over the past 20 years it has grown up to be among the largest events of its kind in Canada, and is located on one of the most beautiful waterfronts in Ontario. The Cobourg Waterfront Festival combines both an open air and tented, Fine Arts Show and Sale and an Arts and Craft Show featuring over 300 talented participants.
In 1990 the festival began when a small group of interested citizens approached the Town of Cobourg to ask that an existing arts and crafts show be expanded to include fine arts. The town agreed and suggested Victoria Park as the site. The Cobourg Lions and Lioness Clubs were asked to spearhead this expansion and this was the beginning of the Lions Fine Art Show and Sale.
In 1992 the Town of Cobourg approached the Rotary Club of Cobourg and proposed that they take on the responsibility of organizing and presenting the Arts and Craft Show. When they agreed to be a partner in the town’s celebration and along with the Lions Clubs, the current Cobourg Waterfront Festival was born.
As interest in the show grew and the organizers became aware of the increasing popularity, space was made available for additional artisans, and vendors were given space to set up and sell light snack food. Added attractions include the Midway, the Marketplace, daily entertainment on Cobourg’s Bandshell and a variety of special interest demonstrations including Canadian Forces Skyhawks, and Search and Rescue Teams, and Metropolitan Toronto’s Winged Wheels.
Come join us, there’s something here for everyone to enjoy!
