Welcome to the Festival
A Proud History
Come join us as we celebrate the 23rd annual Cobourg Waterfront Festival.
In 1990 a small group of interested citizens approached the Town of Cobourg to ask that the existing Arts and Crafts show be enlarged to include Fine Art. The town agreed and suggested the use of Victoria Park as the site for the Fine Art Show and Sale. The Cobourg Lions and Lioness Clubs were approached to spearhead this part of the expanded festival.
Then in 1992 the Town of Cobourg approached the Rotary Club of Cobourg and proposed that they take on the responsibility of organizing and presenting the Arts and Craft Show. When they agreed to be a partner in the town’s celebration and along with the Lions Clubs, the current Cobourg Waterfront Festival was born.
As interest in the show grew and the organizers became aware of the increasing popularity, space was made available for additional artisans, and a wide variety of food vendors. To round out the festival experience added attractions include the Midway on the Pier, the Marketplace, and all-day entertainment on Cobourg’s Bandshell. Don’t miss the variety of special shows and demonstrations such as Canadian Forces Skyhawks, and Search and Rescue Teams, and Metropolitan Toronto’s Winged Wheels.
Make the Cobourg Waterfront Festival your destination for this Canada Day Weekend. There’s something special here for everyone to enjoy!
